Case Summary


Samra N., a French national, left for Syria in September 2013 as a juvenile and joined the terrorist organisation Jabhat al-Nusra (JaN) there. She married one of the organisation's fighters. In November 2013, the couple then joined ISIS. Samra N. hbas also advertised JaN online, among others targeting individuals in Germany trying to convince them to join the organisation abroad. Additionally, Samra N. took care of the joint household and helped her husband acquire military equipment for ISIS. Samra N. returned to Germany in early 2014, remained a member of ISIS for at least another year. She was arrested in Germany on 29 November 2023 and was in custody until 13 March 2024, before she was indicted on 3 April 2024 for two counts of membership in a terrorist organisation and two counts of war crime of pillaging. On 24 September 2024 she was convicted of two counts of membership in a terrorist organisation and sentenced to two years imprisonment on parole under juvenile justice.
